why in gods name does the 4th gen look like a new impala

i was cruising along today and saw a black impala SS newer style, with tinted windows and their spoiler that looks very similar to ours. it looked an aweful lot like a black 4th gen SE. although ours still looks sleeker and sexier and its better built, quicker, better handling, and more reliable, this still bothers me for some stupid reason. plus i have those stupid altezzas so it looks even more like the impala

i need to do something to my max to set it apart, not anything flashy, or outlandish, but something to give it a nice sexy, black sleeper profile. my car is black on black

i was thinking: get rid of altezzas, get red/clears and tint them. tint the windows, get a rear window spoiler, keep stock SE rims, but lower car and polish up the billete grille. what do you guys/and girls think??

sorry for the rant

Make sure that you get rid of the altezzas.

I don't see the resemblance. I think the Max looks worlds better than that Lumina, I mean Impala SS.(How are they gonna call that piece of garbage a Impala SS? Check out a 96 for the last real Impala) As for your car, I like all your ideas except the rear window spoiler.

better handling?
the 4th gen has VERY bad handling

the impala looks like a 4th gen with altezza's
and a malibu looks like a stock 4th gen

You obviously haven't heard about the new supercharged Impala. SC'd 3800 V6. I'm pretty sure thats the GTP engine, and you know what they can do.

I think the 96 Impala is the best car they ever made. It's hard to beat the sleek look of that car...even stock it looks tight!!!

Riiiiiiiiiight.

EVER Made? - Howabout a Porche GT2, Ferrari F40, BMW M3/M5?

Modern Chevys suck *****. Although I do admit the 96 Impala was a decent car for a Chevy, I'm sure it is still a POS.

As for the newer Impalas:

I speak from experience - Chevy 3.8 V6's suck. The car kept having major problems. Those engines overheat for more than 2 minutes, and you may as well replace them.

Problems with the Chevy:
5 Starters
2 heater Cores
2 Water Pumps
1 Radiator
3 Alternators
1 Distributor
4 Distributor Caps
1 Axle
Frame rewelding after it snapped while just driving on a smooth road!
and 4 - yes - 4 Engines!!!

All in 6 years.

No mods installed on that car, oil changed every 3k, plugs every 30k.

My Max:
1 Alternator (Replaced under recall)
2 Axles (those were my fault, too low, didn't cut bumpstops)

Lots of mods installed....same service intervals (except now i change the plugs more often because I'm boosted).

All in 3 years.

Man - just thinking about that POS makes me

Car cost me 15k in repairs alone over 6 years...but I was stuck in the loan and couldn't get rid of it for a long time.

Oh - and isn't it "Impala looks like a Max", seeing as the Max was first on the scene?

Damned biters....

Oh - my bad - I'm just passionate about hating modern Chevys

nah - I think the best EVER would be the 1967 Camaro J56 model Z28.
Only 205 of those suckers in existance.

Now that was the glory days of the US Domestic Market...

Since about 1975, it all went to poop.

By 1992, it was jsut horrible. My car was a 92 Camaro 25th Ann. Edition....RS tho.......

I remember looking in the Engine Bay and it had "Bueno" printed on a sticker.....

Made in Mexico...

While most Toyotas and Nissans are made in the US.

those 94-96 impalas are the best, my friggin dream car.. that LT1 engine is vicious.. i was drivin in the city one day and this black impala was runnin from the cops, he turned right where i was stopped at the red and then proceeded to make the quickest left i've ever seen and the cop shows up a few seconds later, makes the right and keeps goin straight, he he.. i had a 92 caprice that i dressed up as a impala but alas twas not quite the same.. oh well.. now i got my max and am happier than ever.. especially with gas prices shootin up faster than a heroin addict..
