Completely Confused

This has been bothering me for a while, but I figured.. I dont need to know.. but now, I was looking at about 30 cars from the cardomain site, all the same year and model. alright, here is my question...

In my car, next to my dash dimmer switch (right next to it on the right) I have little red light. I have only seen it go on a couple times. I dont remember what I was doing, but it did. It also started to go on when I tried to program a remote (Stick the key in and out etc..) it started to flash.. What the heck is it?!! I did not see it on the 30 cars I looked at, and again, the description/model of the car is the same year, model ,etc... I am so confused as to what it is. It is not the security light. that is on my blinker side. This is on my wiper side. arg! lol

whatch it be something so simple! lol

thanks in advance!

I was able to upload a photo... take a look

mine is above my clock! for some reason, the place that put it in put it up there instead but i like it because it is more clearly seen. although everyone now asks what is that nipple looking thing?...

I think most guys put it there so you can see it better from the passenger side. The steering wheel sorta blocks it otherwise.

dpassino, i have that exact same light. an alarm one on the left and that one you have on the right also. what kind of maxima is yours? mine is a 95 GLE fully loaded except for cold weather package. i just got it a month back and don't know what that light is for. i think i've seen it a few times turn on, like when i accidentally left my headlights on or something, it might be a warning light. it was also randomly on tonight after i parked it. hmm...

Re: ha ...

i have no idea what it is. when i turn off my car and lock it, the security lights blinks but this unknown light does not. hmmmm.... it did light up this morning when i opened the door and turn off when i shut it, but thats it. why would i have a light for the door when i already have one near the speedometer.

Maybe its for deaf people. They can't hear the chime but they can see the little light. Just guessing.
