Know about shaving the rear emblem on the Max, but are there holes left after the emblem has been taken off? And if so what do you do about them. Think I might like to do it, also if someone has this on their car please respond with a pic. Thanks.

Use the search feature in the upper rt hand corner of the site. You'll find a post telling you how to remove it with dental floss between the emblem and the trunk lid. There are no holes and if you scrub off the glue with a rag-you're all set.

From what I've read in the forum...there are no holes underneath...its just stuck onto the trunklid. If you do a search you'll see other postings about how to take it off and what it looks like.

Pretty easy the only thing you have to worry about is if it's an older max your paint might be slightly darker underneath the letters because of your paint fading. If you plan on taking them off anyways, use a heat gun or blow dryer to soften the adhesive up before removing.

putting them back on

I want to shave mine too, but how do you put them back on, like if you want to sell your max?

Thanks

It's pretty self explanatory to put them back on but if you want to get precise with it. Measure or make a template of your emblems as they are now and you can clean off the adhesive tape from them and apply some new double-sided tape and stick them back on with your measurements of where the emblems were originally located. Sounds like a lot of work but you could also just "eye" it back on. I cleaned of the adhesive from them and reapplied some double sided and stuck the "MAXIMA" letters on my dash above my glovebox.

Removing them is very easy. Take a hair dryer and heat up each letter or section at a time. Then easily peel them off the car. I used a small plastic puddy knife to get the started. Then use some goo-gone to remove the rest of the stick crap on the paint. It will take a bit to get it all off. Once your done i sugest doing a light compoundd on the entire trunk area, a polish and a good waxing.

If you have to put them back on i say just buy a new set, theyt cost around $30 for the "maxima" piece and $15 for the "nissan" logo.
