Car dying.....need help

So in the past week, my car has died twice....both while I was driving. This was not cool, cause when it dies, it locks up, which makes stopping a b***h! Anyways, I pulled the codes and got 0505, so I have no clue what is wrong. Once it dies, I start it back up, and it's fine. There are no noises, no problems starting up in the morning, no nothing...just dies. Any advice? Thanks

How many miles on your car?

Clean TB
Change Fuel Filter
Check Spark plugs
Possibility of a bad ground somewhere
IAC vavle
Engine coolant sensor

My guess is that it wouldn't be the last two in the list
because you didnt get a check engine light.

I'm at 105,000 right now ('96 GXE). I'm changing the spark plugs this weekend, but I had cleaned the TB about 2 months ago.

Nope, no light on, on the dash (0505). I was thinking the alternator, or the battery, cause I'm not sure how long that battery has been in there....have an odd feeling that it's the stock one.

Argggg....doing 75 on the highway and then the car dying is NOT fun.

Is there any way to test the alternator to see if that's the problem?

Take it to autozone, they should have a machine to test it there.
