I have 100k or so on my 97 SE. I last got my car serviced at the 90k service/check up. I don't think they replaced the fuel filter, but I was reading it should be replaced every 30k miles or so.

definately. clean fuel will help the injectors last a little longer by not clogging up.

remember to release all fuel pressure before pulling off the hoses. you can do this by letting the car sit for 8+ hours PLUS removing the fuel tank cap. just to be safe, you can pull the fuel pump relay and crank the car several times.

also wear safety eyewear just in case, plus have a bunch of rags on hand. the fuel lines can be tough to pull off, especially in the position that they are located. heat them up with a heat gun or hair dryer; this makes them more pliable and they'll pull off a little easier. or just cut them and replace with new fuel lines.

ahhhh

Not to be a di$k but heating a fuel line up with a heat gun is a bit dangerous! I think I would just keep trying to pull. I must be the only one...but this replacement took me 15min. to do....

what's so dangerous about it? nothing. I've done this process numerous times on different cars. there's no way you screw things up and cause any damage.

its easy..

if you have the tool they use at gas stations. The tool looks like a pair of pliers, but instead of holding something, it pushes things apart (like the fuel line from the gas filter).. It has a special head on it to grip the hose.
