i was looking on-line at my 95 SE spec and it says that i have "Speed sensitive steering", what is that supposed to mean? i've gone upto 145 mph and i didn't feel any change in steering. what gives??

 

It means that your power steering is more active when you're going slower, making low-speed cornering easier.

Turning a car when its going fast isn't nearly as much work as turning it when its going slow.

The fact that you can't feel a difference means its working as designed.

 

yeah but shouldn't it get harder the faster you go? it gets a little harder to control at high speed because the steering is still very soft.

 

Soft steering is a common problem with 4th gens. No, the idea of the speed sensitive steering is that it feels consistant no matter what the speed.

4th gens actually have "engine-speed-sensitive steering". It's not how fast the car is traveling that affects your steering feel, it's how high your RPMs are. When you stomp on the gas and your RPMs fly up, the steering boost declines, and the wheel tightens up. This helps with torque steer and gives you more control when accelerating out of a corner, etc.
