Searching for 5 speed manual
I'm lately looking around at pricing for a 5 speed manual transmission for a 1995 Maxima. I would like to do the auto to 5-speed conversion. One place I found was "Japan Direct" on the Internet. They mentioned they needed to know whether I was looking for a "locking" or "non-locking" transmission. Is that a reference to the limited slip differential? If not, then what does that mean?

Re: Searching for 5 speed manual
I have an exact replica of this post on the same page asking for the same info. It is in reference to the VLSD system, and as I stated, I believe they're:
VLSD - Locking
Non-VLSD - non-locking
but again, I'm not 100% sure and could be the other way around. Still waiting for a response.

hard parts to find it seems.. Well I guess at a reasonable price..
I told one guy I bought a 5speed parts car w/ 80k and said I'd sell everything he needed including 2 rebuilt drive shafts, ECU and manual harness for 900$.. Sent the $$ that day. Did not even advertise.. So look hard and jump if u see a decent price. Ask anyone on the board and you will see that is no cheaper way to get time back on the 1/4mile or 0-60.. The auto vs 5 speed is like a Kia vs your car now.
