Fog Light info needed

Hi,
Just bought my 1997 Maxima SE 5 speed out of its lease (after 5 great years I couldn't part with it) and I'm getting ready to start upgrading. I want to start with lighting. The headlights and fog lights are pretty weak.

Does any one know what the bulb part number for the fog lights is? The owners manual has only wattage, no number. Are they sealed?
Is there an aftermarket part that makes them brighter?

Any toughts on headlight bulb (9004) replacements. I've heard that Sylvania Silver Stars are good for the money.

Thanks,

Zonamax

PS - This is my first post - I look forward to learning alot on this forum. I have done all the maintenance, repairs and upgrades on all my cars for the last 30 years. I'm also an electronics engineer and know a bit about automotive electronics and audio.

Welcome

First off, Welcome to the org.

Second, the Headlights are 9004's and the fogs are H3's. Don't switch to a higher wattage headlight bulb, or you'll fry your Headlight harness. You can buy an upgraded headlight harness on Ebay for like 35 bucks, or you can make your own. Maximadriver.com has the basic diagram for this.

Let the modding begin!
