jus wonderin if any max done some cams/camshafts mod... how does it affect the performance? how much HP/torque? how much is the mod? is it worth it? installation hard?

JWT makes cams for the max. Not too many people using them because it's not really a great mod if you want to keep your car "streetable." They dont even say anything about it on their site. I think i30krab has the cams. Perhaps someone else can mention the gains and costs.

No one has cams on an N/A max, at least no one on this board does.

They are $1200, valvesprings are another $200, an ECU to fully take advantage of them is $600, an MEVI to further take advantage of them is $650, and installation of all of the above is about another $1000+ if you can't do it yourself. Have fun

I met a mechanic at the Nissan Dealership who drives a 5-speed 97 Maxima. He told me he put Stillen Cams with Stillen Fuel Injectors...is he blowing smoke, or is it possible? I didn't think Stillen made cams for the Max...

Tell him to stop using his mouth as an exhaust for methane gas. Stillen has never made cams for 4th gens. As for the fuel injectors....unless he is 400+HP I dont see the use for higher cc injectors. I cant believe a mechanic said this....must be a gino....and i wouldn't bring my car to him for anything more challenging than an oil change.

He's a *******... Stillen doesn't make cams nor injectors. Stillen doesn't make anything innovative, they just make bolt on parts and charge a crapload of money for them. $200 for a POP-Charger, $250 for a strut bar, HAH. The only stillen parts I care for at all are the RSB and the aero kit.

Actually I think in the last iteration of the Stillen catalog Stillen did have cams listed in the Maxima area gaining 15 Hp. Can't remember for sure, but I swear they did. The catalog is at home so I can’t check right now. I was wondering about that.
