dash removal cd player install

dash removal cd player install

Im trying to install a cd player in my 97 maxima. I got the plastic around the shifter up and i removed the cigarette asher thing and the cig lighter. I can't seem to figure out how to remove the rest of the plastic to get to the stereo. what do i need to do?
thanks in advance.
P.S. i tried a search but it wouldn't let me b/c i am a new user or something

Look on the top of each page, there is a link in red that looks like the following, it will tell you why you can't use the search function: Administrative announcement regarding the search feature

(Pity the size was too small, and the color red wasn't obvious, otherwise everyone would notice it)


The center stack is bolted in with two bolts on top and bottom.
You removed all the parts on the bottom, you should see the two bolts.
You will need to pry of your center vent/clock/def & hazard sw assembly (it is one piece) carefully to see the two top bolts. Once you remove all bolts, the entire center stack bracket (with all parts) can be removed.

Take care to disconnect and reconnect all connectors.

I would suggest spending ~$20 and getting a manual like Haynes, it shows step-by-steps on many repair procedures.
