Chain or belts?

Do we have timing chains or timing belts. If we have belts every how often should i change it. Also when i start my car i hear a squealing noise at crancking and it longer to crank when it starts. Can someone please help me...

Timing chain. Does not require replacement or maintenance under normal circumstances.

Squealing of the starter motor, sounds like the starter motor is stuck after you release the key? Like a donkey whine? If so, grease has dried out inside. Check out www.motorvate.ca where they have a good write-up on repacking the grease in the starter motor (or you can replace the starter motor before its untimely demise)

Edit: If the squeal is present only during cold weather, then it's most likely the grease. Shut your engine off after driving for a while, and re-start. If no squeal, most likely grease.

i am getting a cel w/ the knock sensor code, i wass told it could bhe my timing, is it possible the my timing belt is too advanced?
