Recurring Start Problem!! Has This Happened To Anyone Else?

I have a 95 GXE. I have had the famous "cold start" problem that many have had with this model/year. It made the very loud whining noise that would go away after a few seconds on cold starts. When nothing else worked, I replaced the entire starter. The problem was fixed for a while. Some time later the car began shaking when it started. The engine would knock and shake no matter what the weather. A cloud of white smoke would aslo emit from the tailpipe. After it did this a couple of times the check engine light came on and indicated that there was a problem with the front oxygen sensors. So I had them both repalced a little over a year ago. Now believe it or not it is doing the same thing again. It will not start unless I press down pretty far on the gas. It then lets out the cloud of white smoke and knocks and shakes when it starts. The check engine light came on again as well. I checked the code myself and got a reading of 05-05 which means that there is not a problem. A day later I checked it again and got two codes indicating that the front oxygen sensors were bad again. So I then took it to the dealer's service department where the technician told me that I may have a computer problem. She said that when they get the reading that nothing is wrong in conjunction with the codes for the oxygen sensors that sometimes means that the computer is bad. What is craxy is that she told me that they could not tell if the computer was bad until they replaced the sensors (for $580). If the code still came up that the sensors were bad then that would mean the it was a computer problem. Mind you I would not get the $580 back, and would still have to pay to have the computer fixed. I told her no thank you. I can take the $2000 they are talking about for repairs and put it down on a new ride. Has anyone else had this problem and or been told the same thing by the dealer? If so what did you do? My thought is that a 1995 is not worth putting that money into. I only have 113,00 miles on it (mostly highway). But who is to say that something else will not go wrong after I get that fixed. I think that it has some bugs in it because it is the first year that the model was made. Any help that anyone can give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
