Possible Computer Problem!! Please Help!

Dealer told me that I may have a computer problem on my 95 GXE. Starter has been replaced as well as all oxygen sensors. Now one and a half years later a cloud of white smoke emits from the tailpipe while starting, and the car knocks and shakes. It will not actually start unless I press down pretty far on the gas. This is the second time that this is happening. Dealer technician told me that I may have a computer problem. Has anyone else had this problem and or been told the same thing by the dealer? If so what did you do? My thought is that a 1995 is not worth putting that money into. I only have 113,00 miles on it (mostly highway).

White smoke = water or coolant getting into the combustion chamber. That usually means head gasket.

Computer? Never go back to that dealer again.

The gasket set is probably under 50 bucks. The labor is probably well over 500 bucks.

I'm getting the 0505 code which means that nothing is wrong. I'm also getting the code for the front oxygen sensors. But I just had those replaced two years ago. So they should not be bad that soon.

It gives the 0505 code and then nothing else. After I reset the CEL it comes on after about 3 more starts (usually the same day). When I check it again it gives the codes for the front oxygen sensors.

So basically what you're saying is that you're getting O2 sensor codes...and after you clear 'em you're getting the 05 05 codes, right? THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SUPOSSD TO GET!!! After you drive around your computer realizes that there's something wrong and starts to pop the O2 sensor codes AGAIN...then the cycle starts all over because you keep reseting and getting the codes. Do you get what I'm saying?
