Clutch

My clutch is definitely on its way out the door. What kind should I get. I have '96 with 107K and I want to do a few more mods (already have a Stillen intake, and short-shifter), nothing too crazy though. Should I get a stock one? ACT? Let me know which one and if anyone can get me a deal on one. -Pete

Get an ACT street clutch and resurface your flywheel.
You have to baby the clutch for at least 300 miles but personally I would wait a thousand just to be on the safe side.

I am actually looking into a stage two dual friction centerforce. I have heard to many transmission horror stories about the ACT. I know that i will need to buy the t/o bearing and a clutch alignment tool, but i have driven almost the same setup in another car, but it actually had an OEM disc. the pressure plate alone makes a good difference. Does anyone else have this clutch/presure plate?

I have this same setup and I love it...the clutch never seems to slip. Even if you tried to make it slip it wouldn't. I highly recommend this clutch and if anyone is interested I can get these for $240 may be less if I can negotiate. A great deal for such an awesome clutch. These are also designed like a stage 2 clutch, so basically you can do everything but NOS to your Max and it will handle it easily. They recommend breaking in of 500-700 but I would also say 1,000 just to be safe. If you wait 1,000 you would never have to replace the clutch unless you were the worst driver in the world.

Man if you could get me a deal that would be great. Send me more info on it. I need all the price help I can get. Is it just the clutch and pressure plate? Get back to me at michael_39750@yahoo.com

Thanks again. That is a great price.
