Sound..

I hear a weird sound coming from the rear wheel well (i think), when i'm coasting at a low speed, or I turn the wheel to the left with a slight jerk. I have about 46k miles. And another question... I posted a thread about a squeal coming from my rear driver side wheel well that happens when i brake at certain times. I tried cleaning my brakes with the brake cleaner thing, but that didn't do anything. What can be the problem. The pads are relatively new.

Thanks
-Mark

Umm, hard to describe, like an intermittent squeak with the turning thing. And then loud squeals coming from the brakes.

new axles, i suggest both driver and passanger side. chekc ur CV boots, probly torn, of so..like i said..new axles. griding or high sqeul indicated greasless cv joints.

so a loud squeal coming from the rear when i brake is from the axles. It doesnt happen every time i brake.

Don't know about the squeak when turning. But with relatively new pads, the squeal is probably because the pads were installed without brake goop (such as Permatex Brake Disc Quiet). It's possible it could be other things, such as the pads themselves (material problem), but most of the time if they squeal when brakes applied, Disc Brake Quiet is the proper cure if it wasn't put on originally. If they squeal when brakes are not applied, it's the wear sensor and time for new pads.

if your sure its from the rear then it cant be the axles, but squeking is one thing, how loud does it squek and is it constant. When does this sound occure,,random, turns??

the squeak is barely noticeable. if i even have the music on low i can't hear it.. maybe its not coming from the rear since its kinda hard to gauge where its from. if it is the axles, how much would it cost to replace them =/
