Guys I NEED help
Guys I NEED help
Ok heres the problem:
CEL Light is on w/ codes 0304 and 0901
0304 - knock sensor
0901 - Front Right Htd 02 sensor heater
I don't feel like going to the dealer and getting raped $350 for this.
So hopefully i can get it fixed with the help of the .org. What will i need to fix this problem, ive been told that all i need ts the 02 sensor b/c the knock sensor is a false code. Where is the sensor located on the car? Is it on they-pipe? if so i am getting a new y-pipe shortly and should i install that at the same time?
Thanks alot guys
Anyone have a walkthrough on how to do this?

Wait for the ypipe.
If you're having it installed, just have them swap the o2 sensor
then. It'll take an extra 5 min.
The o2 sensor may or may not correct the ks code.
It's not always false. (I'm very sorry to have found out on my own)

I've got the 9-1 code too
And it won't go away!
It's got a brand new sensor, I reset the code and it comes right back - I guess it's a problem in the wiring or something, what a nightmare.
As for the 3-4 knock sensor code, I had that too, but I had already paid to replace it after I found out that it could have been a false code- the old one did end up being cracked though.
I would like to know this as well, the guys in the general forum are telling me that I should have only got them from the dealer. - I got mine Bosh brand from AutoZone for $78.00. Dealer quoted $160.00 a piece
These should be OK right folks?- (well, if their not, that's just too bad because I can't afford to replace them again
)

do i need to use an oem sensor or will a oem style sensor be ok?

where is te sensor located?
The sensor goes in under the car but the wire comes up through between everything and connects at the top. The right one is on the back side of the engine (not the front one by the radiator) and is on the passenger side, I didn't see it from under the car but you can find the grey square wire harness thing on the top.- Okay so maybe that wasn't much help, but it's a start.
