Fail Safe Mode

I was getting a CEL so I took my car down to Infinity. My friend hooked my car up to his scanner and read off a few codes and said my car was in FAIL SAFE mode.

I read about this a while back, but forgot what it does exactly. Anyone else know anything about this mode? Does it keep your car from starting if you don't fix the problem or does your car just not run properly?

Thanks

a fail safe mode is basically like Safe mode on a computer, usually there is something wrong with one of the inut sensors and the computer turn that sensor off and replaces it with a in spec input. Sometimes the car will run funny
