Nissan Consult
A buddy at a dealership is telling me he can use the Consult to adjust my timing.
I told him I don't think that will work, and if it does, the ECU will relearn and kill any new settings.
What's the known info on this? If it is possible, why isn't everyone doing it?

Well, the question is that if I did give it a shot, how much would I advance?

YOu would have to do some timing sweeps. I'm guessing that the stock ignition timing should be 15*BTDC +/- 2*. So the CONSULT would be able to adjust your timing from 13-17*BTDC. This changes the base timing so the ECU won't override it. Another method is to make and adjustable crank sensor just like an adjustable cam gear.

Interesting.
Any dangers in messing with the setting 1-2 degrees either way?
