If the JWT or Stillen intakes use hot air from the engine bay, and a CAI is not an option for me, would I be better off just staying with the stock box then?

Not really.

I put in the JWT intake and I can squeeze out a bit more from it than the stock airbox.

And it sounds kinda cool when I step on the gas hard.

I have the JWT and the throttle response is greatly improved. Sounds nice too. Keep the stock box if you like it very quiet.

Just put the JWT on 2 days ago and noticed a diff at higher rpms in breathability. Almost no noise diff unless you rev over 3000 rpm and hit the gas hard. Still not anywhere near as loud as I thought. I used to have a 94 Accord and pulled the air silencer box on the intake and it sounded like a typical Accord with the trash can sized exhaust (loud!).

Check out the Air Intake Resonator Mod post on the 5th gen forum. You end up modifiying the stock airbox to breath better and you'll keep fresh and cool air in the intake. I'm gonna try it out in place of my HKS intake.

I put my JWT on last night....

and today, I can't tell any huge difference in speed or anything, but the sound is GREAT! normal driving, no big difference.. you put it the floor, it sounds GREAT.. a deep meaty growl. I could tell a little difference on torque maybe? the fact that I could squeel the tires at 20mph on my automatic just by flooring it??? this seemed CRAZY to me, but the speed, can't tell a huge difference. But then again, I am so caught up listening to it everytime I hit the gas hehe. I LOVE IT, I would buy it even if there was no performance increase, just for the sound hehehe
