Anyone have any ideas why my cruise control doesn't work??? It never worked since I bought the car... I turn on the cruise switch to ON and it lights up green but when I use the steering controls to set it, it dont do nothing

 

First of all tear your steering wheel column apart and check the connections. Next, check your clockspring. This is what is causing my cruise to turn off when I turn on my turn signal. I also heard a bad ground can cause havoc to the cruise control system. There are a lot of things that could be causing the problem. I eventually had to take my Max to reputable shop to track down the problem. I still haven't got it fixed yet because it is $500 for the clock spring & install. I can live with not using my turn signal!

 

$500!?!? Guess I wont have cruise control Berly use it just wondering why the **** dont work.. hehe

 

hey i think mine is start to go..cause somtimes it work and sometimes it doesnt. I have had the same symptoms as you are having. The main CC light comes on but when i press the streering column switch to set cruise nothing happens, but then i stop and shut of the car and restart it...everything start working normally..werid huh?

Few days ago i also got a check engine light which said something about transmition signal to ECU and vehicle speed sensor....well i reset the ECU and the light is gone but if there is a genuine problem with these sensors then i think the CC would get effected...I am gonna see if the light comes on again and if it does i am gonna start replaceing the sensors.

Did u guys get any check engine lights? ever ran a test on the ECU? maybe its might help...if its the speed sensor...someone told me thatis pretty easy to change and its only about $45 bucks.
