Car's having prob since spark plug changed

I changed my spark plugs a few weeks ago and now have a little problem. Sometimes, the car doesn't start: when I turn the key, the rpm goes to about 900 rpm (as usually) for maybe half a second and then immediatly drops to zero and the car stops. It takes only a second for this to happen and don't know waht's wrong. If a give a little gas at starting, it will start alright but once in a while, the car doesn't start. It's my first time I changed my spark plugs but everything went find so I don't know what the problem is...could it be the spark plugs' gap? If the gap isn't good, would it create this problem? Any input would be appreciated.

Hmm if your RPMS are jumping sporadically from say 1000, back to 0 then it suggests that your throttle body need cleaning, my cars RPMS would jump to 1500, then to 0, then back to 1500, and once I had the throttle body cleaned out it stopped so check that out.

Thx for the replies and yes I'm using ngk platinum plugs. Today I tried to fix the gap and now I hope the car's gonna be fine.
And Harrish, I'm not sure if my case is the same as yours, for me, it's only at the starting like usually when I start the car, for a fraction of a second, the rpm goes to 900 and that's a normal thing, but it's only right after the 900, the car stops. Like I said I just changed the gap so I'll see what it will do.
