K&N Filters

Will a K&N Filter really give a 99 SE any more power?

3/10 of a horsepower, that`s it? How about throttle response?

I'm just messin with ya about the .03 HP...I'm not sure how much it adds..if any. I have the drop-in filter in my 99SE, and I don't notice anything.

guestimates

A K&N cone filter that replaces the airbox will yield about 1-2hp increase. Add a midpipe to replace what exists between TB and MAF and you'll see a total increase of about 5hp. You'll also change the tone of the car when you remove theses Original Equip. resonators and what not.

go here www.budgetexhaust.com and order a ypipe by calling them, then worry about an intake. Remember the prices listed are in canadian dollars, so its 160 shipped.

You may notice the effects of K&N on things like throttle response but probably not so much on the maximum power. It probably helps the engine breath a little bit easier at light throttle.

That`s what I thought, I put a K&N filetr in my Dakota and it made a huge difference in throttle response.

I just got off the phone with Advance Auto and they have K&N drop-in's in stock so I am going by this afternoon to grab one. The reason I'm getting one is not so much for performance but my stock filter is picking up an awful lot of dirt. So I want to save on buying filters over time...plus the added resonse will be a bonus...
