Is there any way to make the horn sound with the flashing parking lights when I use the remote to lock the doors on my 97 max GLE?
Also I'm thinking of adding a remote alarm like a clifford or alpine. Should I disable the factory remote and then install the alarm or try to run the two together?

rubber ducky...your the one...ok...Ernie...the horn does not flash with the parking lights. but could be wired to do so....a DIY project...also when you get another alarm if you do, the installer should be able to either make the two work together or disable the factory...don't really know too much about the combo..but check with like a circuit city or something.

yeah. i had experience with a 92 SE and 2 car alarms (factory and aftermarket). bad idea very bad. it was the "insane" car. the locks would pop up and down at will. sometimes it would go off for no reason or sometimes the remote would just decide not to work. this happened even after we pulled the fuse on the stock alarm. it was pretty sad situation. hope that doesnt complicate things for you. my suggestion is don't waist money on a new alarm unless your going to get your money out of it. aka hood, door, and trunk pins, auto locks. and if you like auto trunk, window close, and lights off.
