BKR5E-11

ok, i just dropped a set of these (BKR5E-11) in my car and i cant tell the difference between them and the Bosch Platinums i had in there before. Where is it noticeable at? higher speeds? do i need to break it in for a while? or is having 128K on my car a factor? well, for a $1.59 each i guess i cant complain

You can buy OEM NGK LASER PLATINUM PLUGS on EBay for $37 shipped so you must be getting BOSCH Plugs at 6 six for $7, that doesn't compute. Bosch plugs work great in German cars not so Japanese cars. By the way the Bosch Plug has only a platinum center electrode where the NGK LASER Platinum Plug has TWO PLATINUM ELECTRODES not just one. The body of evidence presented on this forum favors the NGK plugs by an overwhelming majority. I just can't understand why someone wouldn't spend $37 for plugs that last three years which comes out to $12.34 per year to ensure optimum performance in a $30,000 car. GO figure, maybe you should get a YUGO and really save some money!

i just ordered some NGK Platinum from http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com...art=Spark+Plug

there are some different brands denso, ngk,and bosch.. give them a try, i spent 12 bucks on each plat and i will tell you guys how it went. My ve30e is running rich, and smells horrible from the muffler, blue smoke coming out, and failed inspection here in nyc CO2 numbers was almost double the normal. My max is back firing, put put puttering, hopefully with the tuneup of sparks plugs, fuel filter, and pcv vavue will fix her. are there anyother things you can do to advance the spark to give more HP? how about MSD ingnition? how does that work

NGK PFR5G-11 is OEM Platinum Plug. Do a search on ebay for NGK Platinum Plugs, they frequently are offered for $37.00 for a set of 6 shipped. Excellent price!

You can get a lot of information about spark plugs and the differences at www.sparkplug.com. It's a great website to discover that all plugs are not created equal. You can get the copper NKG at the dealer, but they are a little over $2 each. They also only like to sell what came with the car. The coppers came with the Altima. The guy at the parts counter put a note in the invoice that I didn't buy the proper plugs. Anyway, I'm sure that coppers are much cheaper elsewhere.

I don't think anyone has ever said that if you take out functioning plugs of another brand and put in NGKs that you will necesarrily see a dramatic difference....what we have said repeatedly on this forum is that many times when people have problems with hard starts, mileage, hesitation...etc that switching back to NGKs has solved the problem....but I don't think I have ever read in my three years on the org that someone replaced their NGKs with bosch and it solved their engine problems....so the general consensus you will hear if you ask about plugs is get the NGKs.....more of a proactive than reactive thing....

I had bosch platinums in my car for about 3500 miles and I threw and engine light(Multiple cylinders misfire) and the exhaust was puttering with a rough idle. I have brand new fuel injectors and all and I had a set of NGK platinums in my garage that I just hadn't got to installing. Well I installed them and ever since(about 1500 Miles) I have had no misfiring problems or engine light.

plugs

Well I ran the NGKs, Bosche, and now Autolites all platinum. I can't tell any difference. With about 220k on my 95 and still getting about 30 mpg highway I can't see spending 40 bucks on a set of plugs. I think what your buying is an exchange rate that sucks. Sure if NGKs platinums were about the same price as Autolites I would go for the NGKs.

Save your money or go out to a good Dinner. Around here Carrabbas Italian food is very good but still pricey.

Well, I bought my 95 Se with about 97,000 miles on it. It ran perfectly fine...great performance and great gas mileage...until about 140,000 miles. Then one day it started missing...I thought I had gotten hold of some bad gas. After letting the tank run almost completely emptay and then refilling, the miss still didn't go away. I though, "What the heck, I've never changed the plugs...I'll go aheand and do that and see if I find any bad plugs." I pickked up some Bosch Platinums at Advance Auto. Went home and started to change the plugs. All of the front plugs looked perfectly fine..very light grey tips..burning clean. However, I was soon to find my problem. The left rear plug had almost completely backed out of the engine. The gasses escaping by the loose plug messed up the coil pack tube really bad. Bottom line though is that it had Bosch in it for almost 50,000 miles and ran like a dream. Since I've put the Bosch in it (and replaced the bad coil pack tube), it's running like new. I really can't complain about the Bosch plugs.
