This morning was driving and my battery and brake lights both come. I natually think that my battery has had it, after all, it is a 96 (se 5sp). I go the local auto shop and have my battery tested, its ok. DO some other test, I am having charging problems it says. Car started ok, anyone ever heard of this. As of now, the car is at the dealership, I don't have time to explore. Just curious if I am alone on this one.

Alternator? My wife's car was like that. The battery was nearly discharged because it wasn't being charged up.

Problem Targeted

First off, have not jumped other cars off.
So here's what the problem was: The dampner pulley had nearly deteriorated, rubbed my CPS (crank position sensor), which caused this to trigger. One other belt needed replacing as well.
My car now has 80K miles on it, and I suppose the previous owner did not have the belts replaced at 60(?), when the factory reccomends. Another factor may have been the fact that last week I drove my 4K miles in a matter of 5 days, pretty stressful for a car I assume.
Moral is to get your belts replaced and keep up on maintenance. Thanks for the info.
