front rotors

front rotors

hey guys i,m thinking about changeing my front disc brake rotors .
i brought the rotors new, and i was wondering does anyone have suggestions on if i should get them shaved before putting them on or should i just put it on and new pads? p.s if i wanted to paint calipers what paint do i use ? i have a sterling mist sel 99
what color do you think looks the best

Personally I'm not into flashy calipers but I've found that silver/metal colored calipers look best. Red/Blue, etc looks very ricey unless that's what you're going for. There's always black as well..can never go wrong with that.

I wouldn't go as far as shaving the new rotors but clean them before you put them on.. Brake cleaner with a little toothbrush action will do the job nicely.

yeah i painted mine red...i have a black max...it looks alright but kinda ricey...im prolly going to paint them again except black. u can buy the paint at a pep boys for 5 dollars but dont forget to clear coat it

Shaved? What, are they hairy?

Just scuff em up a bit with garnet paper if you're real ****. Personally for the Max, I'd just clean them really well with brake cleaner, dry them, and slap em on. Just make sure you bed the new pads in very slowly with 10-15 good 40-5 consistent stops (but don't stop all the way) and allow for cooling in between.
