Hi, I tried adjusting my lights. I forgot which direction is which and I can't see the beam move up or down when i twist the rod. How much do I have to twist it to see a difference?

I am starting to wonder if I am totally screwing up my light aim so I need some help. For up and down which direction is which? is counter clockwise down on the bar furthest away from the grille? For left and right adjustments, which one is left and which one is right? THanks

i really dunno how much to twist it so I am twisting it bit by bit but I don't see any major differences. Just wondering if I have to twist it a lot..
