air bag warning light
air bag warning light
Yesterday, I had a front end alignment done on my '99 maxima SE. Once I returned to my car and started the ignition I noticed the AIR BAG warning light blinking in the dash and it will not go off. Is there anything remotely possible that something required to align the car would cause this to happen? Anything I can do to reset it to avoid a trip to the dealer. I already tried to disconnect the negative battery terminal but the light remains blinking once the ignition is on. Thanks for the help.
I would start complaining to the shop that did the alignment... I assume that the light was off when you took it in, and its on when you get it back..... Complain about it and have them pay for a diagnosis from a dealer and also pay for a repair....
Re: air bag warning light
Hope they didn't steal your airbag..

You can reset the air bag by putting the key to the aux, then press the door light button on the driver side(its the button that turns off the light when you close it dont know what its called) press it like 7-8 times within 5 sec. then start the engine or something like that I kinda forgot the exact numbers... the airbag light should turn off.. if it its still blinking or the seq of the light is different then try it again... I had that problem before and it went off for 2 days when the air bag light came on again... There is a TSB on the airbag wiring harness so if you got ur car at the dealer with some warranty you might be able to get them to fix it... There was a more detailed instructions on reseting the air bag ECU.. but ull need to search for it..
