HELP!!!!! tranny problem

I have a 95 auto, and it never has done this before but it was shifting just fine. And then i went and washed my car today and i washed off the motor everything was ok untill i went and picked up my girlfriend and now it shifts really hard 1st to 2nd, but its not as bad through the other gears but its alot worse then it was before. Does it sound like i may have knocked off a vacume hose or should i start looking for a new tranny. I hope someone can help me out thanks
Mike

Does it make any noise from first to second? or any other gears? if they power washed your engine could be well they messed up something. check your cluch fluid.
you could also check the ecu. but then yours manual.

I use to have manual car, 87 Acura legend. I had problem like that. It was the master cylander for my cluch that went bad. they changed it and the problem was gone. Your fluid should be yellowish color, clean. yous hould not see any black metrial in there. but then i am not expert on trany. If i was you i wouldn't drive the car as much. I know its weekend. But something could go really wrong with your car, something is not working right. just on monday take it to tranny shop, i leave in NY longisland, there is guy by my house who checks this stuff for free. just don't drive your car and on monday take it to tranny shop, just be on the safe side.

ALso do you hear any noise when you change from first to second?

Sounds like the dropping resistor failed or shorted out. It's located on the driver side strut tower, wedged between the the air box and the tower. Make sure you didn't knock a wire off while you were drying off the engine compartment. Or perhaps it shorted out. Thats the only thing that would cause the sudden change in the way the car shifts from 1,2 and 2,3. If the part has shorted out, it's only a $20 part from Nissan. Don't be fooling into a new tranny when that resistor may be your problem.
