Making sure VI works ??

Alright it feels awsome through the gears above 5000 but I just want to insure its working in every gear properly...
I tried it today with the hood open in my driveway set at 3000 RPMS, reved it up to 3K, it opned alittle past 3K then let it go back down. I did that a few times and I noticed that it doesnt close till about 2300rpms on its way down after I let off the throttle..This may be caused but smaller tube I needed to use on the Vaccuum canister on the small nipple ?? It may be normal ?? or my vaccum switch may be malfunctioning (New Dawes Device)

anybody have a trick to actually see the aculator arm open while driving

You could hook an LED from radioshack to the positive and negative on the solenoid....run it to your ****pit and then when it lights, the RPM switch is activating...

You really should be able to hear the VI kick in. The resonance difference is pretty distinguishable.

Hey Ian, do you or any of you other SC'ed guys with MEVIs notice a difference in sound? I don't, other than maybe a very subtle change.

Jay25 once said that he could hear the "tink" of the actuator arm bottoming on the intake frame. I can't hear it over my engine/s.c but the pull is very different from the suffocating feeling of the usim. I had the mevi in a box for about 2 months and contemplated installing it due to the rumored loss of torque. I wouldn't go back now for anything the pull in 3rd on the highway is great and even below 5k the engine revs more smoothly .

I could see how that's the case, but on a NA car without cams the intake sound/power is quite pronounced. With cams the VI resonance gets lost, and the power difference isn't very noticeable.
