Wow... now Im faced with the question: lowering springs or this?

I would give it a try if I had the money.

It's just another straight through muffler...you might as well throw a glasspack on there.

It is stainless steel, and it is mandrel bent, two pluses. So, if you like the canaster look with a chubby tip, go for it. It repulses me, but hey variety is the spice of life right? And to all those who could care less about looks, another reason to go for it.

If you want the throatiest sound, get a Flowmaster. 40 series if you've got a single catback, and 80-series transversal if you want to do dual. Just as long as it's two-chambered. While not the best flowing for HP, it will give the most "hollow" and "raw" sound out of all the mufflers. 99Maxima5sp can reiderate on this.

well quality won't be something we can make remarks on until someone throws that sucker on
exhaust tips are the least of our worries. i have a stock muffler on right now that thing is tiny.

I dont see an o2 bung on this one do you ???
the resonator is not the same and the styling isnt either if thats a true pic of how it is for a maxima.

It is stainless steel like the OBX and its 2.5" inlet and a 4.5" diamater which is good. Looks like good stuff, just hope it doesnt have fitment issues.

And it looks to have a silencer and a resonator, i dont think it will sound like a fart can at all.

I and a lot of the DC Crew have had canister type mufflers on our cars for a while now. They give off a very deep, kinda raspy tone to them without the silencer. With the silencer they sound stock. To me they are the best and most versatile straight through mufflers around. On the Maxima they look just like any other muffler. All you'll see is the tip (same size as the Greddy SP). They don't give the buzz sound associated with Stillen and Greddy mufflers though.

* I think that canister mufflers do a great job suppressing sound.

Deep is good. Raspy is not. And who wants to spend $300 to sound stock?

I don't know about you, but the reason I am buying an exhaust is to increase flow, so I can have more power. If you just wanted to be loud why even buy a catback or y-pipe, a universal muffler will make your car loud. If this exhaust sounds close to what my stock exhaust sounds like than it is just another plus for it.

I don't think it would be that loud, I have a through and through muffler with out a resonator and after 3k you can't hear it over the road noise. My exhaust sounds kind of like say a greddy evo on a supra at idle and under load at lower RPM. I would suspect that this one would be a little higher pitched but I wouldn't think it would be that loud.

God knows I am all about performance, but a catback wont do alot for you as far as a Maxima goes. I do not just want a muffler cause I am not trying to be loud. I want to hear my exhaust but I dont desire for it to be obnoxiously loud. A cat back is the proper way to get performance, a muffler is not. But still it aint that great of performance.

My reasons for spending $300 on exhaust in order.
1. performance (not much but hey every little bit counts)
2. sound (I would like my car to have a nice tone)
3. looks (looks bada$$ to me although it is still inconspicous to most at a standstill)

See for my car this catback will help out alot, seeing as I am running a stock exhaust system with a 85-shot of nitrous, and it is just way to restrictive.

I just got in on the OBX catback deal that going on right now in the Group deal forum. This deal has a different OBX muffler than the oval ones that they have been using in the pass though. It features a canister type muffler that looks like the greddy evo. I hope its not too loud but its $290 shipped.
