a friend of mine who is also an org member helped get my shift **** loose. he used a jar opener on it, while i twisted with my hands.

The factory **** is glued AND threaded...
you gotta get a cloth, put it over the ****, and use a WRENCH, and twist that bish off, good luck not fubar-ing your ****!

Thanks for the Advice (Except Sprint
) I will try heating it first then twisting because I twisted it so hard I was afraid I was going to bend the shifter. And I did try Vise Grips and well lets say I have a plastic **** with glue on top now, no more leather cover. Well off to try again or to sleep and try tomorrow.

You really shouldn't need vice grips or a wrench or anything. Put some force behind it.
