How do I remove my manual shift knob?

How do I remove my manual shift ****?

I cant seem to get it off.. I have tried twisting it off but nope.. Anyone have any suggestions?

you have to twist it off.
a friend of mine who is also an org member helped get my shift **** loose. he used a jar opener on it, while i twisted with my hands.

try heating the **** with a hair dryer, and then twist with a big wrench, shouldnt be too hard mine came off easyy

all you gotta do is twist it. It is hard to turn but just put some force on it and it comes off. Mine did anyway

if you dont care too much for the **** use a vise.. it should work..

sorry sorry, i couldn't resist.
The factory **** is glued AND threaded...
you gotta get a cloth, put it over the ****, and use a WRENCH, and twist that bish off, good luck not fubar-ing your ****!

Use rubber vise grips. The kind with a belt that you can put around circular objects you need to loosen.

Thanks for the Advice (Except Sprint ) I will try heating it first then twisting because I twisted it so hard I was afraid I was going to bend the shifter. And I did try Vise Grips and well lets say I have a plastic **** with glue on top now, no more leather cover. Well off to try again or to sleep and try tomorrow.

Hacksaw and a 5lb sledge...works everytime.

since the leather came off while u tired i assume u didnt have a tight enough grip, tight the hell outta that vice grip and u'll have it.... if all else fails get ur *** to the f'ing gym!

Every time you get into the car try to twist it off. I got mine off after a day or two. If you still can't get it off ... take sprint's advice

You really shouldn't need vice grips or a wrench or anything. Put some force behind it.
