Car is choking when starting

it all started a month or so ago after i installed my Ypipe, which was professionally installed, and also had one of my O2 sensors replaced while i was at it...but basically, the car starts up real rough, and chokes in a sense while its starting...it would crank, and then not wanna crank at all, and then it would eventually start after sum hard chokes and cranks and even having to give a little gas...the RPMs sumtimes drop a little low around like 500 at idle at a light...im an auto by the way...car runs absolutely fine after its started up however..few other org members hurd it and said it sounds like a starter problem
i was thinkin of replacing my starter cuz i know its been grinding for like 5-6 months now, but my question is, how much difference will a new starter make? can this be a possible fuel injection problem? fuel pump/filter/injectors? dirty air filter(PR CAI w/ K&N)? could it be an electrical problem? battery, alternator, sensors? could it be a leak or loose vacuum sumwhere? too many possibilities but i just wanna know if changing the starter would help, thanks..sorry to make it long
