Injen CAI or Budget Y first? (unique situation)
OK here's the deal. Yesterday I realized that my "K&N" drop-in filter is not a K&N at all, it's just a Fram filter.
I bought the filter in January, so taking it back probably wouldn't have any benefit. Someone must have switched the filters at the store, causing me to spend 50 bucks on a regular Fram filter. So now I am kinda worried about my MAF sensor because a Fram filter is not meant to be oiled. I don't want my MAF sensor to get ruined. I want to buy an Injen CAI and a Budget Y. I have $170 right now, which is enough to get the Y-pipe. However, I could get another $50 from the bank which would cover the cost of the Injen CAI, and would stop my worrying about my MAF sensor. If I had the Injen, I would just throw away that damn Fram filter, and stop worrying.
Before this unfortunate discovery, I was planning to get the Y pipe first because it seems to make the most sense to speed up the exhaust flow out of the engine before pushing more air in w/ an aftermarket intake.
Please give me your suggestions. Which one should I get? I would like to order one of them tonight or tomorrow.
