How hard...

How hard would it be to find a 98 or 99 maxima se with leather, nonbose, auto climate control, and a 5 spd?? and how much?? I have a 97 se with all of that except it's an auto with 93,000 on it, how much do you think I would get for it?

it was a pain in the *** for me to find my 95SE AUTOTRAGIC, I found a VERY nice Pearl White SE 95 with a pitch black interior leather, auto climate, and 5-spd for about $5000 but I didn't get it because it had 173,000 MILES I really wish I got it and swaped the engine, but it still had to many miles in general... they raped that poor car...

also you could always do a 5-spd conversion.. thats on my list :P oh and did you see the thread about the tan interior to black leather conversion? It came out really nice, so no matter what you decide you could always do them 2 and get what you really wanted...

good luck, its my understanding that the vast majority of our cars are automatics because they are family/old people cars. i came across only one 5spd and it was beat to hell. i had enough trouble finding a nice auto.

but they are out there

it's real easy: go and buy a stripped 99 SE, and a week later go car shopping, and notice that every lot you had been to before now suddenly has the car you want. At least that's what happened to me.....

well I just found one on ebay, and my dad claims that his friend who goes to the auction comes across them all of the time. I live in MA and the one on ebay is from NJ so there is a possibility, but it has the pinstripes is there anyway to take those off?

Like the time I spent countless weeks looking for a good maxima, looked at many 95-96 GLE's, GXEs, nothing that I really liked, and even a beige 97SE, but I really didnt like the color. . . eventually I came across a Rosewood 97SE auto stripped, so I jumped on it. Next week I saw a black with black leather SE 5 speed in a used car lot near my house, and in the classifieds, a 2000 SE 5 speed for $10,500.

There should be a lot of Maximas in the northeast, and you should be able to find a 5 speed. It was supposedly the best selling 4 door sedan in the NE for a while.

tell me about it....A week later, the place i bought my car had a fully loaded black on black 5-speed with only 20k mi on it. then 2 days after that, colonial nissan in philly was selling off it's 02 stock, and prices were starting at $12k. That's 2Gs less than what my 99 cost used.

And yes, you can remove the pinstriping.....

i have had luck with using cars.com and autotrader.com

with autotrader.com you can click on certain fields and only search for a "1998-1999 maxima" and "manual transmission"

this should help you modify your search.

good luck!

Yes.

Before:

After:

5 minutes with this badboy and some goo-gone, then a good wash and wax.

Just stick your fingernail under it when you look at it and make sure it's a sticker, and not painted on. (90% of the time it's a sticker)

Iansw is right, run your finger over the pinstriping. If it's in sort of a groove, it's painted on. But if the pinstriping is raised, it's just a sticker.

If you don't have access to a sander, you can use a blowdryer or heat gun. Or, just do wat buddy did to his sentra: Let the car sit in the sun all day on a hot, humid day, and just peel it right off.
