Tachometer problem

My tach has started acting crazy. It wont float anymore. I can be driving and it will jump to 3000 or it will spin completely around to the opposite side of the dial. Help I'm Lost!

The only thing U can tell you is to buy another gauge cluster from ebay or a junkyard. They usually go for like 60 bucks. Fixing those things is expensive and if you do it your self chances are that is not going to be accurate at all.

contact me if you wanna just swap the tach gauge and not a whole cluster (but you still gotta buy a whole cluster). that way you dont have to register a change of mileage with the dmv.

Mine does it too. I never really use the tach for shifting anyways, so I just deal with it. If anything else ill just buy an aftermarket tach and put i ton the steering column. In all honesty though, it really isnt fixable? like maybe their could be loose wires etc.

Can I ask where you got a cluster? As I have the same problem. Mines an Auto., but it drives me nuts watching the Tach. bounces all over the place.
