Door Alignment Adjustment

Hey All,

Trying to adjust the drivers side door, so when it closes the door sits flush with the rear door. Does anyone know how to go about this? I was looking at the lock latch attached on the piler, but it looks like it has no room for adjustment .

On that same note, aside from spraying lube on the hinges/black plastic guide, is there any other adjustments you can make to the doors to make them easier to open and close.

Thanks in advance for any input!!!

Thanks
Biz

You can move the latch on the door jam. Just loosen the mounting screws a little. Then you can tap the latch into a different position using a hammer & screwdriver. The latch will move about 1/4" in both directions.

That's how I did it.

No grease will ever remidy the slow back door problem. You need new 'door checks' as nissan calls them part # 82430-51U00. They are prety cheap I think mine were $14 each. Not too difficult to install either, now door closes and opens with the greatest of ease.

Why is the alignment out? If you were in a wreck then you will probably only have have limited success adjusting the striker.

The door alignment was off when I bought the car. The door had been replaced/fixed per a accident with the previous owner. And now with the door closed, it sticks out a little less then 1/4". Figured if I could adjust either the striker or lock mechanism within the door by a 1/4" then I could realign the door to close flush.

Thanks
