Battery light went on...does it mean alternator???

Battery light went on...does it mean alternator???

I check the ecu and nothing there...some people says its the alternator going out??? Any advice thanks.

Get a voltmeter.

Check the voltage of the battery with the car off - should be close to 12V.
--> If not then your battery is probably bad.

Check the voltage of the battery with the car on - should be close to 14V.
--> If not then your alternator is probably bad.

No matter how many people tell you to do it... do not disconnect your battery while your car is running.
