How do you stop your HU from dimming

I replaced my HU in my 98 maxima, but whenever i turn my headlights on the headunit dims. I was wondering if anybody knew how to stop it from dimming whenever the headlights are on.

My headunit automatically dims when my cars headlights are on. This is a setting on the head unit.

Turn the dimmer switch onto the full lock position and your HU and climate control lights don't dim. At least that what my 99 does....

You must cut the dimmer wire on the factory wire harness for the radio. In my '95, it's the red wire with yellow tracer. I'm not sure about your '98, though.
