I'd Kill The Bastard

Somebody keyed my car. It's not that bad, but any key is bad.. I'd kill the **** If I saw them.. Anyway, anybody know the best way to get these out, short of taking it to a body shop?

Nothing you can do. Body shop time. You could try touchup paint...good luck getting it to look right though.

What's a typical price for that? It's about a foot long scratch.. Not that deep. I've never dealt with this before

there probably going to have to paint that entire part.. not 100% sure tho.. but pretty sure.. I had a few dent/scratches and they had to paint my entire front end from some very small crash i had.

If its not that deep then you can probably buff it out.

Yes, that new smiley is super fun. I just think that attracting attention via using non-office/school friendly words in the thread title then including no pics warrants a flame.

The word "Bastard" is not office approved?

Hmmm...I'll have to change my packet sniffer here at work to filter that so I can get someone fired.

(And that sucks man - I'd kill the fu<ker too.)

<oops!>

What in the hell are you talking about? Logic isn't one of your strong points I take it.

Take your car to a detailing shop before you go to a body shop.
If they can buff/compound the scratch out, you'll be MUCH better off.

How much it run you? I bought my car from an auction, lots of scratches, and the whole front end needs to be repainted. I'm wondering around how much it would be. Pearl white. Thanks

Pearl White is VERY hard to match...I know, I have Pearl White.
If your car is Pearl, I think you should repaint the whole car.

as for price, don't go to Maaco...you get what you pay for!

My Max was also keyed a couple months ago or so. I went through my insuranse and got just a little over two grand.

Currently I am still looking to get it painted along with some other custom work done while its in the shop anyways.

What I want and what I can get are two different things though, its all about the funds you have to work with. So my search continues for someone to paint.

Best of luck to you.

I had my entire bumper replaced and had a bent fender (with no paint damage) bent back into perfect shape.

The bumper was painted, but they did 0 blending with the rest of the car....matches 100%. Noone can even tell that it's not the factory bumper....no matter the lighting or angle.

I think paint matching can be done if you go to a good shop.
