I have a loud clicking noise coming from f/right axle on acceleration?? So I thought it was an easy fix, went to advanced, and installed a new axle. Problem didn't go away. This started after I took my coilovers down another inch?? dunno if thats the problem or what, anyhelp???

Check your tires there might be a peble or some screw stuck in the threads causing this noise.

it might be the wheel bearingss, i went throught the same thing, changed the axle, the noise went away for a day and then it came back. i then drove it till the car was pretty much undrivalbe (big mistake) and ended up having to change the wheel bearings and hub.

could this be true, even if the noise goes away if i take it out of gear?.......when i take it out of gear, it is as smooth as can be. It also doesn't seem to click in reverse??

yeah u where right, i drove the car till you could feel the friction when driving, but i just couldnt convince my father thats what the problem was till it went to $hit. but now it drives like a dream.


my car was doing the same thing at the start, it only made the noise when in gear. its because you are putting a bigger load on them, thats when they start making noise. Also if you catch it in time you might not even need to change the hub.

nope u gotta change both hub n bearing. once u break it the only thing holding ur wheel on is ur axle !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to gravedig, but I'm having the exact same problem. Hey geo, before I order the wheel bearings and hubs, I just want to make sure you had a very loud click-click-click noise only under acceleration. The noise is most apparent during straight-line acceleration, but it also occurs on left turns (clicking almost goes away on right turns). There's no hum-hum-hum noise whatsoever. Both axles are brand new RAxles.

Well it started off on acceleration and breaking, basically when you put pressure on it. But by the time I got the car to the shop you could feel the metal grind in the hub and the resistance on the car to move. Also the noise was very loud and constant, don’t let it get to that point.

i have the same problem as you guys after i installed my coilovers. It keep making continous clicking noise, very noticable when going slow speed. I thought it was my control arm, because it broke but I just got it new one install today and the noise still there. So defin. the wheel bearings and hub not the axle?

I think it's the axle. Or a combination of wheel bearing, hub and axle. Seems like an expensive fix for all of us...

Fark, I have this prob too and figured it was just my pass side CV joint(s)... I was going to get some Raxles and figured it'd be just fine after that... and yeah for me it's only when there's a good amount of load (more than normal) on the right front wheel, so when I'm taking a hard left turn, when there's a 260lb dude sitting in the pass seat, etc, and the axle is under acc/dec load.

So are we calling this the wheel bearing? Because I've actually had to replace my driver's side bearing and haven't replaced the pass side yet, but the symptoms are completely different. Is a new hub necessary as well or only if you've worn them down to the bone?

And how hard would this be to install/writeup anywhere? Don't think I've ever seen a hub/bearing writeup on the org.

If it makes noise turning left, it is the right bearing, turning right it is the left bearing.
