*******, try windex, or alcohol. and drying the glass should work, unless it's not from water, idiot.

Woe, calm down boys. Make sure the spots are on the outside. If nothing you use works. You can always use brake cleaner. Put some on a cloth and rub. It takes out anything! I used this on my glass before putting on a window decal. It worked really well. I would only do this as a last resort. Keep brake cleaner away from paint!!!!

I'd try regular window cleaners first though.

A newb........ok, I gave you a quick answer you didn't say you had tried to wash it so I went with the simplest thing first. Some people (you) are just ungrateful A$$holes.

Did you even try cleaning it before you asked?

Geez, a newb...obviously from the tag line under his name he isn't a newb...he gave the most logical first try answer...looks like maybe you are the moron

Clearly, neither of them are newbs. So, it should have been assumed that the most logical solutions had already been tried.

Gently rub some 0 grade steel wool over the glass. Someone here recommended it once for cleaning the windows and I've done it with pretty good results. If you get 0 (really fine stuff) then it won't scratch the glass (but try it in a tiny corner jsut to make sure). And, of course, don't try it on the inside of the glass if there's any tint present (I forget if the inside of the sunroof is tinted).

1. The guy was trying to help, why don't you not be an *******, ad just accept that he was trying. You weren't clear on what you did, and he gave the best answer. D1ck.
2. Try not washing the car in the sun. I've had that happen to me before, but only when i washed the car and the sun was drying it before i could chamois it off.
3. Try an industrial film cleaner. You can find stuff like that in places that specialize in printing and arts supplies. the stuff that i use will take anything off your windows. As a matter of fact, i have to reapply the Rain-X after i use it, because it strips the rain-x right off the windows.

A few years ago I bought some window cleaner that was basically a buffing compound made for windows. The paste is blue in color and was in a black and white tube (if I remember correctly). I suppose a little Megauirs Paint Scrub or some other type auto body polish would do the same job. Good luck!

try a vinegar and water solution, like 1/3 ratio vinegar to water.

The guy on Motorweek recommended using Bon Ami cleanser and super fine grade (0000)steel wool followed by hosing it off with water to get all the crud off on windshields. I'm sure it would work fine as long as it's a glass surface.

Re: Re: Water spots on sunroof? how do i get them off?
I used to use Bon Ami instead of the plastic polish but it was a pain to rinse off and would leave residue all over the rest of the car. That's why I switched to plastic polish. Bon Ami is way cheap, though.
