power steering fluid question

Question for anyone who can answer: Does the power steering fluid become less effective when exposed to the air? Similarly I know that if brake fluid is exposed to air it becomes less effective. I was just wondering if the same applies to power steering fluid. Thanks guys.

Power steering fluid is almost identical to ATF, and the Maxima actually calls for a Dexron III compatible ATF to be used in the power steering system. To answer your original question: no, PS fluid is not as hygroscopic as brake fluid is.
