Apexi Exhaust?

Is this a good quality system? worth the money? I'm looking for something to help the car breath but don't want the loud annoying drone or buzz. planning to pair it with a budget Y pipe.

I really like it. I have a Warpspeed Y and the Apexi. Very satisfied, no drone, sounds great, not too loud.

Wakes up at WOT.

WS is a good choice if you want quiet, yet a nice deep tone

are there any mods that have to be done for it fit A 98 SE? Because it says it's made for a 95-96, but will fit 97-99.

we that makes a lot more sense, thanks, I should of figured that. But why do some other systems claim up to 20 hp gains?

companies can claim basically what they want.
Many times they are quoting crank HP, not wheel. Or some car, at some time, on some dyno, somewhere, got 20hp from the exhaust. Or they are just lying.
Either way, No Maxima is going to see 20hp from a cat-back. Maybe a Y-pipe and cat-back together, but not just a cat back.

The only modification that it needs is a bung hole (no joke). The 97-99s have a O2 sensor after the cat while the 95-96s do not have one. A good muffler shop will charge you about $10 for one. Also, the tip of the muffler will not be flush with the back bumper because the exhaust on a 97-99 is a bit longer than a 95-96. Other than that, it will fit with no problem and sounds great!

No, I believe those #'s are fairly close. also remember that those gains may not be a peak HP, just somewhere in the rpm band.

So on the 97's will the tip be forward of or to the rear of the bumper?

Where's the best place to buy it? what would a typical installation run at a place like Midas or Meineke?
