Digital clock
Check the dimmer switch first. Then, check for any blown fuses. If that does not solve the problem, take out your fan vents (gently tug out and up) and check the plug to the clock display to make sure it is snug and receiving power.
my clock also is messed up. mine comes on at times and shuts off...but it is mostly off. when i was at dealer once i asked if they can look at it and they said all connections were ok and did not know what was wrong. they said maybe it burned out or somehting...i dont think they really knew...and they said to get a new clock...
mine too... i even took it down the the circuit board and everything looked ok. i'm going to check the connecting pins this weekend to see if any are loose. its got to be a bad connection b/c if i tap on the area above it, it typically comes back on for a while.
Bad connections are likely. With vibration, the solder can come loose from the circuit board. It is not hard to take the clock apart. I would use a continuity tester at one contact where the wire plug attaches and test the contact at the circuit board. Wiggle it a bit and see if the contact is constant or broken. A hairline crack could cause it to lose power for a split second, long enough to reset the clock. Tapping a clock that is off would work because you could jostle the crack. Once you find the crack, add a bit of solder and test again. If there is no crack and you are sure of it, check the wiring by plugging the clock back in and bending the wires at certain locations. Simulate any bumbs with the clock plugged in and you should be able to narrow it down. As a last resort, find a clock at the junkyard.
