Installed Y-pipe: Drowning sound

I installed my Y-pipe about a month ago, but now I definitely notice that a strange sound coming from my muffler during at low rpms (1000-2000). This drowning sound is in full effect if I am cruising with top gear (auto), at around 36mph.

Is this normal?

Should I check for holes in the muffler?

Don't mean to butt in, but would wrapping the y-pipe in exhaust wrap help at all?

Ah, that's normal then.

It's a Budget Y wrapped with DEI Exhaust wrap. There is no hissing sound, but at lower rpm (where I like to cruise around) and after start up (when rpm is about 1400, warming up) it's definitely noticeable.

Above 2k, nothing could be heard whatsoever.

hmm, how much does DEI exhuast wrap cost? I have an annoying hissing sound coming from mine. I wish the way it sounded on start-up would be the way it sounded always...

Keep an eye on ebay. I picked up a roll of DEI exhaust wrap 2"x50' brand new in box for $20. I plan to wrap the flex section of my Budget Y-pipe. There are other brands listed also.
