I prefer the 97-99 front bumper. The 95-96 rear bumper is not much different than the 97-99 rear bumper.
If it has a Stillen kit on it, you can definitely notice the difference though.

my 96 is converted to 97+ front bumper. Actually, I love the 97+ front end... and I also love the rear of the 95/96 lol, so perfect for me. I guess I liked the spaced out letters... and my red-out on the tails make it look decent enough for me

no the entire rear end of the 95/96 suck compared to the 97+. There are pics of crash testing... w/ the car being dragged into a pole, rear end first, at 5mph: 95/96 was hella screwed up, where as the 97+ had almost no damage visible.

I am sorry, but I just can't take the look of the 95-96 front or back end. I think that the lower grille on the 97-99 looks more aggressive how it goes down to the points in the corners. Also, I think that the setup of the tail-lights is nice. I like having the reds up top. I don't like how the 95-96 tails have a bit of a groove in them. Just my opinion though. I don't expect anyone to follow me.

97-99 front end and rear, and no they donot look the same as the 95-96 bumper especially the front bumper. The 97-99's rear bumper stick out further and is much safer and I still think that the 97-99 SE front end is the most aggressive looking on any Max!

notice taillights, the groove in the middle of the trunk lid, and spaced out letters.

no offense to anyone who did this conversion, but i think converting bumpers to the 97-99 style is a waste of money unless u can get the bumpers for dirt cheap... i mean sure, it does look slightly better, but then u would end up having to buy 97-99 fogs which probably can be a pain to install. without mentioning stillen body kit add-ons, yes, i would have to agree that 97-99 has a little better look.

Even the 97-99 stillen lip looks a little better than the 95-96 and so do the rear valences cuz they flare out more and they seem thicker around the edge of the rear bumper, but i dunno, i just don't see the time/effort/money of the conversion unless the conversion is not gonna cost u alot.

i'm happy with my 96 bumper and how the 95-96 stillen lip and rear valences look. all i can say is that its good enough for me. i'm even happy with how davidl7 clear/red tails look really great on a 95-96 max. in fact, i think davidl7 clear/red tails have a slightly better look than 97-99 red/clear tails because each of the top/bottom individual lenses are about equal size while 97-99 really isn't, but hey that's just me.

it's not really a waste of money... almost like getting a bodykit. In my case, the car got in an accident so the front needed replacement anyways... went w/ the 97+

My headlights are still foggy tho

I dont like how deep the 97-99 rear bumpers are, but IMO its not worth doing a rear bumper conversion on either unless you like a perticular muffler like 95-99 only HKS
