routine major service.. fact/fiction
hey guys,
need your expertise... my car is now at 90000 miles, and i went to a nissan dealer who recommended a major 90000 service. in addition, he said i need my transmission fluid flushed and fuel injector cleaned. the 90000 service...450, the other two, each 150. is this service really necessary, and what on earth do they do that I can't find another person to do cheaper???
do i or don't i?

You should have all of those services done (maybe or maybe not the fuel injector cleaning) but that is a lot of money to pay. I would go to a trustworthy 3rd party mechanic shop and have the work done there if you don't want to do it your self. It shouldn't cost more than $100 or so in parts and then whatever labor is on top of that.
At 100k, I changed my air filter, fuel filter, transmission filter & fluid, a few o2 sensors that had crapped out, and Im planning on getting new plugs soon.. What you do for your maintenance is up to you..
