What the hell?

I just installed a new starter, had my engine replaced (unrelated) and replaced my plugs with NGK one, but my engine still has problems turning over. It turns, turns, turns, then finally starts. I'm going to get a new battery (Need one anyway) and hopefully it will go away. I really don't know what the problem could be. It almost seems like it has a problem with fuel delivery, but I'm not getting bad mileage or anything like that. Any ideas?

Fuel Pump or clogged fuel filter.

Try this next time you start your car cold.

Get in the car, leave the key in the ON position for about 10 seconds, then try to start it. If it starts right up, the fuel pump is suspect. It obviously isn't dead, just on its way. If you notice power losses and stuff, try changing your fuel filter too, especially if it hasn't been changed in a long time.

Sounds like it needs to build up fuel pressure at first start. Replace your filter, then if that doesn't work, check your fuel lines.

I just remembered, I also replaced the filter, so I know it's not that. I've been suspecting the fuel pump, but I'm not too sure yet.

hmm how about before you start replacing things ... you test the fuel pressure, check your compression, do a starter cranking test, battery test, cylinder leakdown test, test your o2 sesor, your coils, your fuel injectors. Dont just start replacing things... alittle testing will save you lots of money.

Cam, Crank, or ECT sensors will cause hard starts.

The fuel pressure theory is Even after I changed my fuel filter, my car started up immediately. Very minimal extended cranking time.
