Help!, ECU threw code 05 10, have emissions test tomorrow - what does it mean
The decoder utility has 05 10 as 'undefined' and that if that's what comes up then it doesn't exist and to retry the count.
Done that, twice now and still get 05 10.
Anyone know what this means?
Am I safe just to reset the ECU and go to the emissions testing tomorrow?
I'd do a search but I don't have access to it.
Thanks for your help.

Alrighty, I just replaced the Air filter, scrubbed the Throttle body and reset the ECU. Wish me luck with the Emissions test(aka around here AirCare)
Found a cool resource, the Chilton Manual Online while trying to find the meaning of this code. Nice to have it online.

I am glad you had this problem, too. Seems that only a few have had this code and it's NOWHERE to be found.
HOWEVER:
I just brought my car in today and was about to update one of my old posts regarding this. The mechanic listed the error code as SWIRLER VALVE SOLENOID CODE. He said that a vacuum hose had been knocked loose somewhere and that was what threw the code. He plugged it back in, reset the CEL, and my car feels peppier in the low end now.
So, check your hoses and make sure none are loose or anything. If everything looks cool I'd bring it to a dealer.

If you have a 99 with Calif emissions, 0510 is not undefined, here is what it means:

Thanks slfalco, it's a 98 Canadian model, but it's good to know if the code comes back.
I reset the ECU last night, filled it up with fresh gas(it'd been parked for about a month with close to an empty tank) and took it for a good run on the freeway before going to the testing centre.
It passed without any problems, glad I reset the ECU as they hooked up to download any trouble codes. Everything was below the limits allowed, most below the average with the exception of CO2, that was a little higher than average.
Nice to drive it again. Certainly beats driving the old Saab 900.
As an added bonus, I'm picking up a Front Strut Tower Bar tonight!
Speebs: I'll monitor it to see if it comes back, if so, then off to the dealer I go. I couldn't find any loose hoses last night nor any that have hardened or cracked.
